It been Quite a While!!! same goes with alayguhit.org

I know..a lot of things has happened, cant believe that its been months since i last wrote something here, i forgot how i need to exercise my creative mind, and so goes my body too! During the long hiatus, what....5 months or so!! My hair grew longer ( and cut it again!) nails even..my belly flabs went to 37 inches of pure hi-grade fats!! and of course didn't wrote anything here either...and what a mess!
But all is not lost. I have been doing a lot web designing- messing around with technical online jargons and most of all..outreach programs, some sites that I have done during the last century...(internet time of course!)
www.alayguhit.org ( our very own art reach)
and some of the major site ..
www.aleph1-manila.org - Events Organizer
www.amcelcommercial.com - Hardware and Tech Support
www.http://towermedical- Medical Equipment Distributors
in which you can find the whole list under alayguhit.org
all in all there were about 20 sites created and being maintained and so my fingers are all numb by this time ( that's a sorry excuse) to write more on this blog.
But i promise myself to write on and continue this blogsite, so that many of my readers..that's about two to date ( courtesy of ms.appropriate and me!) would be enthralled and entertained on the articles and featured subject that i will tackle soon enough! Meantime eat be happy and always put God first in all of what you do!

Eat First, Fight Later ( Read More!.)

To eat or not to eat?
Figthing with an empty stomach is like... hmmm ..your're really hungry!

My old sensei used to tell us to eat hearterly, ( of course!) then practice till you are hungry again! I guess I ate more than I fought, During one of practices i rushed to a local eatery there without reading the menu I just ordered something hot and with nooddles...hmmm nice, finished the whole bowl and when I had my fill, I asked politely the host "what did I just ordered? It was really tasty!" With a nice smile the host said "Snake Soup with snake eggs..and that will be 15 Pesos" ( in 1972!)
After that I practiced snake under eagles claw! ( Much as i tried i never had any eagles to eat!)
Anyway that's probably why in old Chinatown in Binondo, there are more restaurants and noodles shop than anywhere else! And there's a lot of stories ( even legend!) about these restaurants and eateries. So as they serve a sumptous Lauriat or even a simple noodle dish it is always something to look forward to ( but no snake please).

Many years passed I came across a friend who inherited his dads eatery, it has many legends too.. from Bears Claw in China to Chewing up BEER Bottles and that's another story...
Shantung Restaurant is the name of that place, and it still exist but not in olde chinatown, but in the West Avenue in Quezon City. Its origin according to its owner Jhonson Chang "the cooking style originated in the ducal states of Qi and Lu, present Shandong Province, the Shandong style of cooking spreads throughout the entire Yellow River Valley and becomes representative of the cuisine of northern China. Shandong cuisine consists of three branches — the Jinan, Jiaodong (Eastern Shandong) and Confucian Mansion styles of cooking. Lying on China’s east coast, Shandong, rich in products and the birthplace of ancient sages Confucius and Mencius, is a birthplace of Chinese culture. The Confucius precept that “(People) take great pains to prepare food as exquisitely as possible and to mince meat as finely as they can…” deeply influenced Shandong cuisine."

Shandong cuisine is famous for its ingredients, the fineness of cutting, the duration and degree of cooking, the exquisite flavoring employed in its preparation and the use of soup. It is also noted for its seafood.

The Confucian Mansion style of cooking is refined and ingenious and exquisitely-prepared dishes are served according to strict standards and rites. For example, the “Manchu-Han Feast”, originally invented for the entertainment of emperors and imperial envoys, consists of 196 courses served on a 404-piece dinner service. Particular attention is paid to the names of the dishes, and often a dish’s name alludes to a literary quotation. Dishes include such specialities as Taking the Son to the Court and First-Rank Bean Curd. In accordance with the ancient admonition that “delicious should be served on a fine dinner setting”, the tableware used in Confucian Mansion cuisine is elegant and elaborate. During a feast, music is played to set rhyme schemes.. Now im hungry!

So if you feel like figthing, go visit first Shantung Restaurant, have your fill, and maybe afterwards, you dont feel like figthing, but sleeping instead. Choww

My First Kung Fu Lesson ( Read More...)

Having no way as the way. Having no limitation as your limitation. Bruce Lee Jeet Kune Do
For a Filipino, knowing about kung-fu, karate, judo, aikido or any martial art is part of a norm in their growing up years in tough Manila Metropolis, where people during those times in the Philippines are also in their most trying years, MARTIAL LAW!

So people grab on to whatever entertainment they could, and among those are popular are asian-chinese action movies ( with english subtitle of course!) I can vividly recall specially during my childhood years where Bruce Lee, Jimmy Wang Yu, Shojii Karada were almost looked at as demi-Gods! Movie houses in Manila and elsewhere in Asia were full to the rafters when their movies have a roadshow presentation. And that's where I learned my first Kung Fu Lesson!

Let me see...that was about four decades ago; My Dad took me to a chinese movie top billed by Jimmy Wang Yu, it was about the One Hand Swordman ( see One-Armed Swordsman link ) mind you it was not a sight to see specially for a seven year old! Read on the links for a more macabre description of the movie which i wonder if they still have a digital copy available today.
The legendary Jimmy Wang Yu *then and now

I don't quite remember what and how scenes my father used cover my eyes but I guess he did it where the supporting cast ladies have their breast exposed or somewhere where the hero have to cut off someone's head, but I what i can vividly rememeber how the fight scences were beatifully choreograph where it can still compare with fight scenes from famous movies with digital effects nowadays like Chrouching Tiger, House of Flying Daggers and so on ...

After the movie, (huu head still spinning..) my Dad and I went on to a restaurant in China town to have our usual "noodle break" he then asked whether I enjoyed the movie and I said with a resounding "yes" it was quite good compared to the Sound of Music I watched a week ago with my grand mom (what a comparison isn't it), Then he asked me again "did you learn anything"? " I did" I exclaimed, "what was it"? my father asked in excitement. I stood up to him on a chair took a deep breath and soon as the young and sexy lady waitress asked whats your order, I suddenly jumped up at my Dad and covered his eyes and said, "you should not look at her for shes going to take our order! "

In retrospect to my real formal martial art lesson from my old sensei, he said "Blinding your enemy is the very key to your victory" and guess what I learned from the "Blind Swordsman"
